For years, far-right parties have painted themselves as the ultimate defenders of morality, claiming to stand for “family values,” “traditional ethics,” and “law and order.” They scream about the supposed decline of Western civilization, blaming minorities, LGBTQ+ people, feminists, and immigrants for all of society’s ills. But when you pull back the curtain, what do you find?

A festering pit of hypocrisy, corruption, and crime.

Across Europe, far-right politicians keep getting caught in scandals that completely contradict their so-called “moral values.”

In Portugal, figures from nationalist parties have been caught up in corruption and shocking allegations that go against everything they claim to stand for.

A high-profile politician was exposed for stealing luggage at an airport—ironic for a party that talks about “law and order.” (source)
Another was charged with paying for sex with a minor, which completely shatters their so-called defense of “family values.” (source)
And yet another was investigated for possession of illegal content involving minors, with additional accusations of abuse surfacing. (source)

Despite these cases, these parties still try to sell themselves as the moral backbone of society—while sweeping their own crimes under the rug.

Meanwhile, in the USA…

While far-right figures in Europe are making headlines for moral and legal failings, their American counterparts are no better.

Elon Musk: The Walking Contradiction of “Family Values”

Elon Musk has made a name for himself not just as a billionaire, but as a loud advocate for “civilizational survival” and traditional families. Yet his personal life tells a very different story:

Musk has 13 children with multiple women, most of whom he was never married to.
Ashley St. Clair, a conservative influencer and the mother of Musk’s latest child, had to sue him for sole custody because he barely acknowledges their 5-month-old. (source)
Grimes publicly begged for his help when their child had a medical emergency, and Musk ignored her. (source)
His trans daughter cut all ties with him, reportedly due to ideological differences.

Despite this, Musk continues to push pro-natalist policies, lecturing others about the importance of traditional families while seemingly treating his own children as afterthoughts.

Donald Trump: The Blueprint for Moral Hypocrisy

Then there’s Donald Trump, the man idolized by the far right as the embodiment of strength, leadership, and conservative values—despite a personal history that reads like a tabloid scandal collection:

Multiple extramarital affairs, including hush money scandals (see: Stormy Daniels case).
Bragging about sexually inappropriate behavior, caught on tape (see: Access Hollywood).
Over 26 allegations of sexual misconduct from various women.
Melania Trump visibly rejecting his attempts at affection in public appearances—awkward, to say the least.

And yet, Trump continues to present himself as a champion of traditional values, and his base laps it up, proof that if you say something loud enough, people will believe it—even when it’s the exact opposite of reality.

Hypocrisy Across the Political Spectrum

While right-wing figures have mastered the art of weaponizing morality, it’s important to recognize that political hypocrisy isn’t exclusive to one side.

UK Conservatives – The party has had a long list of sexual misconduct scandals involving MPs, despite branding itself as the pillar of traditional values. (source)
Left-wing movements – While often advocating for social justice, some have failed to address internal misconduct issues, exposing contradictions in their messaging. (source)

The difference, however, is in branding—while left-wing politicians may have their share of scandals, it’s the far-right that actively builds its identity around being the moral authority. That’s why their failures hit harder.

The Bottom Line: It’s All About Control, Not Morality

At this point, it’s not just a few bad apples—it’s the entire orchard that’s rotten. These parties and figures thrive on moral grandstanding, yet time and time again, their own actions expose them as liars, frauds, and hypocrites.

So next time one of these so-called “moral warriors” starts ranting about family values, law and order, or societal decay, ask yourself:

Do they actually live by these values? Or are they just using morality as a smokescreen for power?
